Recipe of the day – The Great Fire

I was just on Liquor.com and they published an article called ‘It’s Now Time to Smoke Your Cocktails.’ In the articled written by Crystal Sykes, she mentioned that with the coming change in seasons, its time to put the sweet drinks away and move towards more distinctive cocktail flavors.

Well, there was a Summer drink that embodied the smokiness that Sykes spoke to in her article. It is The Great Fire, a cocktail created by Daniel Burger, mixologist at Trace Atlanta, located inside The W Atlanta Midtown.

The drink, comprised of basic ingredients and complex flavors was a hit at Trace.

***Side note, The Great Fire was named after The Great Fire of 1917 in the Old Fourth Ward district of the city. Also, the drink can be attributed to the great fires the city suffered during and after the Civil War***
