FSU must make a statement to remain in Top 4

Although they are the only undefeated team from the power conferences, the Florida State Seminoles must make an emphatic statement against No. 11 Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship game to remain in the Top 4 of the College Football Playoff.

With Alabama and Oregon handling business to leave no doubt as to who No.1 and No. 2 should be after the CFP selection show this coming Sunday, December 7, TCU also made a good case for itself to remain at the No. 3 spot. However, a strong showing against Georgia Tech tonight and FSU can overtake them. But, with another close game against an opponent it is clearly more talented than, and Florida State can find itself on the outside looking in, especially if Ohio State and/or Baylor both win big.

Hopefully Jimbo Fisher, FSU head coach, can motivate his squad to win big en route to their 29th win in a row. If not, they could possibly be the only undefeated team from a power conference left out of the playoff. If that happens, Seminole fans across the nation will scream the system is flawed. In the old BCS system, Florida State would likely still be No. 1 or No. 2 at worst, however, real people and real people alone are judging the merits of the Seminoles, whether their judgement is flawed or not.
