Blueberry Margarita

The highlight of this “Blueberry Margarita” recipe is the 100% all natural blueberry puree I made. It’s funny because I initially made the blueberry puree for a blueberry Champagne cocktail I was thinking about. Then, it hit me. I have made Blueberry Margaritas before, instead of using a blueberry puree, I had always used muddled blueberries.

The blueberry puree was simple to make. Its just fresh blueberries, organic agave nectar and a little lime juice. I then strained the puree to remove any remaining skins or seeds and that’s it.

The Recipe

1.5 oz. Reposado Tequila

1 oz. Organic agave nectar

1 oz. Fresh squeezed lime juice

1 oz. Blueberry puree

The Method

Dip the rim of a rocks glass in agave nectar, then lightly roll the rim of the glass in kosher salt. Fill the rocks glass with fresh ice. Add all margarita ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice. Cover with shaker tin tightly and shake well. Strain margarita mixture into the salted rimmed rocks glass. Top with some fresh blueberries.
